The Open Weeks at H.S.R.V. Pelargos are just around the corner, and the full programme is now online!
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be hosting a wide range of activities for students in The Hague. From rowing clinics, networking events and an interactive mystery evening to an international night, a Viking Night with STËLZ, Expeditie Pelargos, waterside socials and much more.
Roeicentrum Binckhorst Continues to Take Shape
Construction of Roeicentrum De Binckhorst is making great progress. While the foundation works were underway in March, the building is now visibly rising from the ground. The photos show the installation of the roof profiles, marking another important milestone in the construction process. In the future training hall, it is still possible to look through the structure, but with each newly installed section, the building is moving closer to its final appearance.

It’s official: registrations for the introduction period (afroeiperiode) of H.S.R.V. Pelargos are now open!
Do you want to get to know rowing, the association, and student life in The Hague in just five weeks? Then now is the perfect time to sign up. During the intro period, you’ll be guided together with other students by experienced members, discover everything Pelargos has to offer, and become part of the club from day one.
The weeks are packed with activities, from sporty moments on the water to fun evenings at the clubhouse. You won’t just learn how to row, you’ll mainly get to know the people, the atmosphere, and the student life that make Pelargos so special.
At the end of the intro period, you’ll show what you’ve learned during the final races, with a chance to win the title of intro champion.
Please note: there are a maximum of 125 spots available. Full = full; once the limit is reached, you will be placed on the waiting list.

The theme of HSRV Pelargos’ fifth lustrum has been revealed! The coming year will revolve around a new beginning; a new dawn. It will be a year in which we celebrate Pelargos’ 25th anniversary.
The foundation for the Rowing Centre Binckhorst is being laid
In early March 2026, work began on the foundation of the Rowing Center Binckhorst. The photo shows the first steps in the construction of the future Binckhorst Rowing Center: from excavating the building pit to installing formwork and pouring concrete. With this solid foundation, the new home of rowing in The Hague is quite literally taking shape. It is a milestone marking the moment when plans begin to become reality.
The spring introduction officially kicked-off! The sign-ups close Friday, March 27th
On Monday, March 16, the spring rowing introduction period kicked off! Until April 22nd, you’ll have plenty of time to learn the basics of rowing, and there are lots of fun activities planned as well. You can still sign up until Friday, March 27 at 11:59 PM.

Starting signal given for the construction of Rowing Centre Binckhorst
Municipal Councillor for Sports Hilbert Bredemeijer officially kicked off the construction of Rowing Centre Binckhorst on Friday morning, 12 December 2025, by unveiling the construction signboard.
Hofvijver edition 2025 was a great succes!
On May 31st, H.S.R.V. Pelargos once again organized the Hofvijver Regatta. This year, with the Hofvijver Regatta 2025, we supported Fietsmaatjes Den Haag by raising more than €11,000 euros! This organization offers people with physical disabilities, illnesses, or other reasons that prevent them from cycling independently the opportunity to enjoy exercise and meaningful social contact on a tandem bike, together with a buddy, a volunteer or family member.
Construction of the brand new Rowing Center Binckhorst begins!
In 2026, construction work will begin on the Rowing Center Binckhorst. Contractor Vergeer Bouw will drive the first pile as early as December 2025.
